Travel Counsellors has said this year’s annual conference will be its “most inclusive to date”, with delegates having access to the sunflower lanyard scheme, two quiet rooms and the opportunity to take part in a pre-event venue tour.
The conference will be held at ACC Liverpool from Friday, November 7 – Sunday, November 9 under the theme ‘Your Story, Our Journey’.
To ease delegates’ nerves and help them feel confident, venue show-arounds will take place before the event begins and the TCTM exhibition will open early for those wishing a gentler start.
A buddy system will also operate with the aim of making agents feel supported, while a community space will provide an informal setting to speak to friends and network.
Travel Counsellors engagement director Karen Morris said: “Travel Counsellors has always been about empowering our people to thrive, and these latest initiatives at our annual conference are another step in making sure everyone can be their personal best, feel valued and leave inspired.”
These initiatives build on the company’s five ‘Affinity Groups’ launched last year to provide “peer networks and safe spaces for dialogue and positive change”.
Morris said: “Our annual conference is the highlight of the year, and we want every single person in our community to feel that they truly belong.
“That’s why we’ve introduced additional measures to support inclusivity, wellbeing and mental health, from quiet spaces and buddy systems to early TCTM access and the sunflower lanyard scheme.
“By putting our Affinity Groups at the heart of the event, we’re not just creating opportunities to learn and connect, we’re helping our people find their community, their support network and a place where they can be themselves.”
